Rebecca Gomez, Professor of Psychology at the University of Arizona, will be discussing her research with the DeLTA Center.

Title: Why is language learning so slow if infants are such rapid learners?

Dr. Gomez’ research interests include “how infants, children and adults learn language; how their learning is improved by sleep; how they connect learning experiences across time and how the developing brain supports language acquisition." She also studies “the memory processes that enable learners to update their memories with new information.  Many of these processes are used throughout the lifespan so I conduct studies with learners of different ages to better understand how memory processes are supported by the brain and how they change with development.”

From the Department of Psychology, University of Arizona, 28 August 2017.
