- Iowa Neuroscience Institute (INI)
The INI is a large interdisciplinary research center that provides a mechanism for establishing collaborative opportunities for the existing neuroscience community, as well as being the home for a substantial number of new faculty members with diverse neuroscience research interests. - Iowa Hawkeye Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (Hawk-IDDRC)
The Hawk-IDDRC is one of 15 nationally recognized centers which study developmental disabilities and related disorders. It brings together physicians, clinicians and basic scientists to identify causes and mechanisms for a variety of disabilities and to work toward better prevention, diagnosis and treatment. - Language Discussion Group (LDG)
The Language Discussion Group (LDG) is an interdisciplinary grouping of faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students from several departments across campus. Participating departments include Psychology, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Linguistics, Spanish & Portuguese, and Anthropology.

- Behavioral-Biomedical Interface Training Program (BBIP)
BBIP is special interdisciplinary research training program for pre-doctoral students in Psychological and Brain Sciences that aims to teach the next generation of behavioral science researchers how to utilize biomedical methodologies and conceptual frameworks for making breakthroughs in understanding both health and behavior. - Cognitive Science of Language Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate
The goal of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate on the Cognitive Science of Language is to develop a more systematic approach to graduate training that can formalize this interdisciplinary spirit. They aim to train students to be consumers and connoisseurs of multiple disciplines within the language sciences, while simultaneously giving them a strong disciplinary foundation upon which to build their careers as scientists.
